Project Flourish was launched in April 2021 by Ballymore and Sainsbury’s to deliver the largest new development within The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. The site is located on the Grand Union Canal at the top of Ladbroke Grove and is one of the launch points for the Notting Hill Carnival.
This project will provide over 2,500 new homes, including much-needed affordable housing, a new Sainsbury’s store, and new high street with retail, commercial and leisure uses. At more than 7.62 ha, the site will provide new green spaces and attractive public realm with soft and hard landscaped areas, low levels of residential parking, new connections throughout the site, and canal side leisure opportunities.
Working closely with the local communities over the last three years, we have shaped our plans going forward to include the canal as a central feature of the development. With good architecture and landscape design as key drivers, it is important for us to deliver high-quality homes that use carefully selected materials together with an enhanced natural environment and the addition of more green areas with child play spaces and sports facilities. Our proposals provide greater connectivity, with new bus, cycle and pedestrian routes.
