Job Description

Cashier - Permanent, Canary Wharf

Hours: 40 per week, 08.30am - 17.30pm Monday to Friday

Duties & Responsibilities 

Key responsibilities include the reconciliation of money into/out of all service charge accounts, and the investigation and resolution of any anomalies. In addition, the role of the Cashier is to support the Property Accounting team in reconciling income and expenditure, preparing year end service charge accounts and creating data rooms for leaseholder inspection. 

  • Reconcile cash received into the service charge bank account to cashbook/nominal ledger.
  • Reconcile cash received into the reserves bank account to cashbook/nominal ledger.
  • Identify any reconciling items, investigate their origin and code as necessary.
  • Ensure all direct debit and payment run amounts are identified and processed on the ledger.
  • Ensure insurance receipts are appropriately allocated to the correct accounts.
  • Create bank reconciliation reports as necessary for circulation.
  • Take an active role in all projects which relate to cash receipts, allocation and payments.
  • Raise credits and reallocate cash as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations & taxes.

Skills & Experience

  • Numeracy, professional judgement and good communication skills. 
  • Must have an interest and experience in the property management sector and be able to engage with, and support colleagues in an effective manner, as required.
  • Must have exposure to accounting software packages, knowledge of Propman, or any other property management software would be an advantage.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Expected to demonstrate professional behaviour in all involvements with external stakeholders.
