Assistant Technical Manager - Permanent, Canary Wharf (E14)

Hours: 40 per week, 08.30am - 17.30pm Monday to Friday

Who we are

BAML takes a hands-on approach to the management of Building Safety, which includes:

  • Management of works in occupied buildings
  • Building Safety Act (Building Safety Cases, Structural Risk Assesments & Fire Risk Assessment)
  • EWS1 assessment
  • Fire Engineering

BAML has led the way with early adoption of processes to support the Building Safety Act and the introduction of technology to strengthen these processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Assistant Technical Manager will be working predominantly with the Fire Engineer and Document Controller to:

  • Manage the EWS1 renewals
  • Manage the streamlining of Building Safety Risk Management systems
  • Manage Building Control Applications with the Building Safety Regulator
  • Manage design information handed over from the construction team
  • Assist to manage the Golden Thread of information for new schemes, refurbishments and adaptions. 

In addition to the above, the role will:

  • Co-ordinate consultants on Risk Assessments and EWS1 forms
  • Preparing Reports
  • Prepare meeting minutes and agendas
  • Prepare design reports
  • Maintain excel tracker documents
  • Attend construction sites for meetings

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in construction or Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of A-site or other common data environment, training will be provided
  • Good MS Word and Excel skills
  • Interested in design in construction
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an organised manner in a fast paced environment
