Assistant Technical Manager - Permanent, Canary Wharf (E14)
Hours: 40 per week, 08.30am - 17.30pm Monday to Friday
Who we are
BAML takes a hands-on approach to the management of Building Safety, which includes:
- Management of works in occupied buildings
- Building Safety Act (Building Safety Cases, Structural Risk Assesments & Fire Risk Assessment)
- EWS1 assessment
- Fire Engineering
BAML has led the way with early adoption of processes to support the Building Safety Act and the introduction of technology to strengthen these processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Assistant Technical Manager will be working predominantly with the Fire Engineer and Document Controller to:
- Manage the EWS1 renewals
- Manage the streamlining of Building Safety Risk Management systems
- Manage Building Control Applications with the Building Safety Regulator
- Manage design information handed over from the construction team
- Assist to manage the Golden Thread of information for new schemes, refurbishments and adaptions.
In addition to the above, the role will:
- Co-ordinate consultants on Risk Assessments and EWS1 forms
- Preparing Reports
- Prepare meeting minutes and agendas
- Prepare design reports
- Maintain excel tracker documents
- Attend construction sites for meetings
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in construction or Engineering
- Basic knowledge of A-site or other common data environment, training will be provided
- Good MS Word and Excel skills
- Interested in design in construction
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in an organised manner in a fast paced environment
