Ballymore launches Emerald House Ballymore launches Emerald House
Today Ballymore, one of London’s most prominent property developers, launches 58 new apartments for sale at London City Island, its development on the Leamouth Peninsula. This news follows the recent announcement that The London Film School intend to re-locate to the Island, cementing the island’s position as a hub for the arts.
Home to 1,700 apartments, stunning al fresco spaces and striking surroundings, London City Island is set against an iconic backdrop of The O2, Canary Wharf and the City. Located in Emerald House on the unique new twelve acre island neighbourhood, this launch releases 58 new units for sale and will include suites, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bed units. Prices for the new units will start from £365,000. The recent announcement that the London Film School intend to move to the island builds on an established reputation for London City Island as a place for culture and follows an announcement last year that English National Ballet and English National Ballet School will be moving to the island in 2018.
London’s new island neighbourhood, dubbed a ‘mini Manhattan’, London City Island will become a vibrant cultural area and one of the Capital’s most exciting and inspirational places to live. Whilst residents will enjoy all the benefits of riverfront ‘island living’, they will only have to cross the iconic 260ft red footbridge which spans the River Lea to be connected to rest of London. This new link, constructed by Ballymore to improve the islands connectivity, will allow residents to reach Bond Street in just 20 minutes via the Jubilee Line and DLR at Canning Town. Residents of the island will automatically become members of the City Island Arts Club, the island’s own private resident’s club which is due to open later this year when the first homes are completed and ‘island living’ begins. The arts club includes a striking red swimming pool of bright, seafaring red tiles – the trademark hue which appears throughout the island.
